Thank you all for the plans you have sent me as well as your advice. This will help me a lot. I plan on posting pix as soon as I start. any advice you give is more then welcome.

I haven't read all of the comments in this thread, but there are some other points that may have been missed. When it comes to the running surfaces, you can look at changing the angles of attack. Another thing to look at is in the tunnel, you can can change the shape of the tunnel to increase compression.

OK I got a lot of plans from every one. I chose the one that i thought would work for me. i took the plans to staples and had them blowen up to 70'' then got the supplies and started the project. however do to the lady at staples messing up the process of blowening up the plans do to the large size, non of it came out right. so when i started to cut the wood for the hull i found some of the parts were the wroung size for each other
. so iam back step 1 and starting over, now i got to find a store that can blow up the planes the right way.

At 72" I'd make it all from ply apart from the bits that have heavy double curvatures, I'd carve them from balsa then cover with glass.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment

72" That is big !! What are your power plans and what are your performance plans. Do you want a fun pond runner or a wicked SAW boat. What do you have now as far as components and what do you want (willing) to spend.
A 72"cat is going to cost to even get going, let alone fast.

I think something that big would be much cheaper and easier to tune with Gas engines....much cheaper! Even twin Zenohas would be cheaper and gtd 40+ mph and up.Comment

If you want, I can send you the set of plans I have scaled to 72" (inside my computer). This one is scaled for 1/4" ply (try to see if your lumber yard carries a good quality ply - preferably 5ply and sanded). These plans require no thinking for the Staples people, just a 36" wide plotter. OK I got a lot of plans from every one. On really big boats more compression is good to lift the rear of the boat. On small boats I reverse the compression and blow out the back. On my new SC 26 for SAW's I did this. The boat ran for the first time on 8S at the saws. Wilmer and myself were dialing it in this year. It only did a average of 61MPH but for it first runs it did good.

this is going to be a long trem P/j
so I PLANE on going Big at lest 70 mpa
. but iam new to electronics and boat building so it will take some time. i hope to be done in 6 month's. first i will build the hull out of wood then make a mold out of it. i will keep the wood hull and finsh it but have a fiber glass plug as a back up just in case. any advice you can give is more thin welcome and i was thinking of useing twin 1/8th scale Mamba Monster Brushless moters with lipo
