Great build Jesse! I'm glad you are seeing the performance you were looking for.

I am tellin ya, go LIGHT. try smaller batteries. I can post the weight of the zippy, but it is maybe an ounce. Why not try em, they are like $10 a pop at HobbyKing.

How does strut angle affect the torque roll or hopping? wouldn't have thunked, might have to try.

Thanks Meniscus! it is definitely satisfying knowing that I put all those pieces together and it goes like a cat shot in the ass! I couldn't bring myself to try this set up on a MiniC, just not aesthetically pleasing enough. This Shockerman design RULES

Well, it may affect it I can be wrong, but if your prop is pointing down pushing your back out, I think you will notice more torque roll then a netrual or flatter prop angle. This is not the same as strut depth, I am just speculating here so I am probably wrong, but it wouldn't hurt to play with them, then see what happens.

Man, that's when you know you are an addict: when you can't drive anymore cuz you can't feel your hands...

I have been asked what KV that outrunner is: it is a Mystery D2632-3000, about $28 on the Bay, being a 3000 KV motor 30 amp, as is ESC 30 amp.

We were thinking maybe that an inrunner might be less torky on the torque roll issue, any ideas?

Hey, I got a coupler from OFE and shimmed it with 1/8" K&S tubing. Not super perfect but pretty darn close. I learned this trick from Steven himself on the Mini V thread, check it out.

Thanks, its been on the shelf since, but still ready for action. I made my own strut, but the rudder is one of the Solinger micro rudders - great little work. Beware of the dreaded torque-roll, I think a smaller prop is in order, thanks again for the enthusiasm. If you are building from scratch, add 10-20% width to it - -you will thank yourself.

Jesse, I have read this thread a dozen times and all of the other mini / mircro cat threads too.
I am still looking to twin either my cat 22" or hydro 21" with Mystery outrunners.
These two are very light hulls and go like a greased weasel with a 540-8S on 2S with a 431 octura.

If I go twins I cancel the torque roll so a smaller prop is no longer a big issue.
In your experience, will the little outrunner spin a 29 to 31 mm prop. I can get the Graupner ones and have read that they are not a tru 1.4 pitch but closer to a 1.2

Your thoughts ?? PM is fine.
