    Skunkworks 29 cat

Thought I'd share some pictures of my skunkworks 29 cat..
I'd like to thank Scott from skunkworks for putting together a great hull and package for me He supplied everything i need for the boat apart from electrics..
This hull is for our newly formed club class 4s open cat/tunnel..
    Setup is Feigao 580 6xl (2150kv) hydra 240 polyrc 4s1p 6000 and so far a x440/3 prop..
From testing this hull runs great, and turns flatout in the corners without any trouble.. The only thing I've had trouble with is keeping water out, which was due to not being able to seal the hatch very well with tape because of curves in the hatch. What I ended up doing was running a bead of roofers silicon around the inside edge of the hatch opening, putting the lid on so that it made an impression in the silicon taking it off and letting the silicon dry.. This seems to have done trick
Thanks to Scott T ( Tappy) for the Ducati decals too

I have the same cat, and the same water problems. I will have to try out the silicone trick.

      I'm running a 9xl on 5s with a y537/3 prop, 49.4mph and she runs great.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

I'm getting just under 49mph with mine and think there's still room for more with prop tests...

Are those cowl locks at the front? Are they the push button type?
Did you oil the hatch or anything when you siliconed it?

I think that the Skunk Works Cat and the Mean Machines will definately be the dominating hulls of the club for the Tunnel classes. I never really liked the Agitator knock off, they dont seem to have enough beam in comparison to the actual length of the hull. - Just my thoughts but I gues we will find out this weekend

                Jimmy,
Thats why i went for the skunk cat as apposed to one of Robs cats, just don't think they'll handle race water as good ..

Nice build Heath! I was impressed seeing it go a few weeks back.

Still 50/50 whether my cat will be on the water on Sunday, the house move is taking a lot more time than I'd hoped.....

                          Thanks Scott,
It should go better now that I've shifted the weight around..
I understand about the move, hope you manage to fit finishing the cat in there too :)
