I noticed that some boats have no deadrise, just a flat bottom with a couple steps. Some boats have a deadrise and mimic a real hull. What is everybody finding that works better? I'm planning to build a large (50"-72") cat and would like to know the best bottom shape. What boats are working best for you guys? Any help much appreciated.

What is the goal for the boat? probably why you've seen different options.
Is the hull being built for offshore waters i.e. some chop and relatively slower speeds?
Fast 140+ mph?
Fun / sport 6-10 min run time?
From what I've seen large cats are somewhat rarer over in the USA than Europe.
I have a 60" cat and a 72" happy to share the floor profiles if it's any use? the 60" is a 140+ straight line boat and the 72" does 100mph for 3 mins.Hpr 06 / 09 / 150 /185, Mhz Skater H45 hydro.

I would like it to be close to 100 mph. Probably pretty smooth to very light chop type water. If you could send me some detailed pics of the bottom, that would be great. Are you running electric motors?
If you are interested, I could use some help with picking motors, esc, batteries, props. I have king of a unique project I am working on and would like to keep it on the down-low until I get it done. Can you DM me on this site? Or my email is slessor928@outlook.com
