22" Jetstream Aluminum Jet Boat Build

    I'm starting a new build.
2ft Jetstream hull kit set up for the 39/40mm TFL Jet.
Jet drive is on order from OSE
I'm looking for some motor esc advice. I own plenty of RTRs but have never dove into motor sizing and rpm stuff.
    OSE recommends 30krpm range.
Boat hull will be in the 7 to 9 pound range without electrics.
I have plenty of 2s and 3s 100c packs so 4s or 6s setup would be preferred.

I will post pics as I progress in the build.

I converted a Pursuit to the jet drive on 4s. I’ll check the boat and see what motor I used. A jet has more sustained power used so a little beefier ESC than a normal prop setup.

I actually dug into my build thread on the Pursuit. I went with a 3674 Leopard 1400kv and a 120 esc that I had around. Real long runtime with that setup

Hull is welded what a project that was, I needed 4 hands to hold and tack.
Im far from a good welder but got it done, I will tear it down over winter and grind all the welds and make it pretty.
Ordered the motor and esc and some power HD 20kg servos for steering and trim/reverse bucket.
Going with a leopard 4074 2200kv and OSE Raider 150 I calculated amp draw and rpm on 3s.

The hardware with the TFJ jet is kind of cheap so I have all new hardware coming.

Working on the intake grate now. Im not happy with the way it lays on the hull, im temped to just leave it off since ill be using it on a lake most of the time.
My other thought was to have a new intake grate lasered out but wider so i can grind/sand down the edges to blendflush on the ull

Working out some battery tray/hold down ideas today, most likeliy I will 3d print one.
Servos, esc and rx are waterproof so those will just be exposed.
Probobly put the esc right on the hull to help remove heat.

My plan for flotation is pool noodles to they can be removed if i need to weld on the hull.

Hull is welded, did some water tests found on small leak I will fix.
Reverse bucket is functional, I lost a bushing for the steering lever, fortunately OSE had them in stock so that's on its way. Also tested the pump in my sink, wish I had a bathtub in my house.
I found a nib spektrum mr3000 rx in my hoard so I'll be using that. I spent some time looking into other rx's but being an aluminum hull i wanted at least one full length antenna outside the hull.
Some you tube links for the tests and a pic below.
