American Express Yacht conversion. Need some help selecting parts.

I have been converting the American Express toy yacht to Hobby grade.

Current hardware: 4mm straight shaft, 55mm turn fins, 95mm rudder, 40mm Aluminum prop from the UDI Arrow, 2200KV SSS 2960 motor and 50A Flycolor ESC.
She runs nice and stable at 20-25MPH but is running very wet and not coming up on plane.

Due to the size of every motor I have tried, the prop is pointing down a bit and I cannot get the shaft angle parallel to the keel.
Only way I could would be to use a universal joint and I do not want to go that way.
I have decided to move to a flex shaft with a bend in it so I can get the prop angle right and get the boat up on plane.

Now, on to my question: Flex shaft-Stuffing tube options.

I picked up the Micro Strut for a 4mm prop shaft from OSE and need to choose a flex shaft and stuffing tube for it.
The strut has space for a 5mm stuffing tube to fit into it so I would like to stay with that size but not sure if I should go with the thin or thick wall tubing.

From what I gather I have 2 options:
1: 5mm thick wall (5mm OD, 4.1mm ID) and .130 cable with 4mm shaft. That would give me .62mm clearance on each side of the cable.
2: 5mm thin wall (5mm OD, 4.55mm ID) and 4mm cable with 4mm shaft. That would give me .275mm clearance on each side of the cable.

I would prefer to use the 4mm cable but not sure that would be enough cable clearance in the stuffing tube with a shallow bend in it.

Also, the 4mm cable has a 70mm long prop shaft and the .130 cable has a 76mm one. That would make the flex cable end of the prop shaft stick into the stuffing tube 7 to 13mm so I cannot go any small I.D. then 4mm.

I will be using a 2100KV 42mm Outrunner motor (Proboat Recoil) on 3s and moving the 2960 SSS motor to another boat if that makes a difference in your suggestions.

Let me know what your thoughts are please? Don't want to get the wrong combo and waste the money and need to rebuild it a 3rd time.

I will post up some pictures once I figure out how.

    Thanks for your input!

Coming along nicely. I've learned in all my hobbying, there is no "Wasted money". It's all lessons learned. Think of the costs like tuition.
