keep breaking my .187 shafts! want to upgrade to 1/4" question about strut

hi i have a scratch built 44" cat currently running .187 shafts trying to spin a octura 485 prop. everything was going fine when i was running 3s but i wanted to see what 6s could do and now im hooked and 3s isnt fun lol unfortunately i broke 3 shafts last year and now just today my 4th so i want to upgrade to a 1/4 shaft. i was looking at if i need to replace my whole rudder assembly or if i could just drop a new strut into my current one something like this... ros-spds-011-250R. does anyone know the upper mounting thickness? my current strut to rudder assembly is .125" also is it possible to get a 25/30? angle(estimated) of flex on a 1/4 shaft?

Sorry, not sure on that dimension.

That big of a boat needs 1/4".

Well you could try a smaller prop! You haven't told us what is the rest of the set up, motor, kv, esc etc. A 485 is a huge prop for anything electric!
