Need setup advice for large sport mono

I want to build a large mono for sport running and run it on 8S because of all the 4S packs I have and my converted XL2 sc.
I am pretty sold on a DF Sniper but not sure on the KV and 56mm can length to choose. I would like decent speed and be able to prop down for more run time.. if that?s possible?
In the past I built a 6s2p 40? mono with a SSS 5684 1200kv and it ran well. Never got hot running a 6 lap race but now I?m not racing.
A friend has a Castle 2028 780kv that could work but a bit low on KV I think. Maybe 1000kv or 1100?

I am also looking at a 40? Raider hull. It might be more practical in size but if the Sniper isn?t much heavier I would rather have the sniper for rough water.

What about a outrunner? More power, less weight

I just picked a 4140 lehner up to try in my sport hydro replacing a Xnova outrunner

I would say for sport running it is more efficient than a inrunner?

Also, there is more KV options with Lehners than any other motor....

They are really nice motors. Motor size and KV are what I need help with most. And props...

8s sport boat. Shoot for 900 kv the biggest TP you are comfortable with. There are used ones everywhere. Keep an eye out. Start with a 457 size prop. Can go with a lesser ESC too. Shouldn?t pull more than 180 amps for sport. Good luck.
