If I went that route, it would become a cost issue. I can buy two pairs from a UK store, but that is all they have in stock. I'd still need one more pair, and based on the shipping costs alone from LMT, it wouldn't be a smart financial decision.

If you are uk based i don't mind to sell you some pairs? i typically buy 15-20 pairs at a time

A couple of comments I can add. The 30100 will be a beast of a motor. If running 12S you can expect peak currents around 400A and likely steady currents in the 125-175A depending on prop. The 2-pole Lehner's like low pitch props spin at high RPM. Stick with 1.4 pitch ratio props with low lift and add diameter to go faster. Like the Octura X series. You can probably run a X482 with ease although I would start with a X472 or X460/3 for first runs in till you know the load and temps. On flat water you will need a lot of power to free up the hull. In choppy water you will be fine. Under load you should be around 22-24kRPM. That should put you in the high 60's to low 70's depending on prop.

You will want to run in Delta configuration for the 600kV. Do order the Lehner Delta straps if the ZTW 500A ESC only has three wires coming out. If you had an ESC like the MGM40063 I would recommend running dual wires (6 in total) from the ESC to the motor and skip the delta straps. I am not a huge fan of the ZTW ESC's but the Lehner's are the easiest motors to drive as long as you have good ampacity in the ESC. I would keep an eye out for a used MGM40063 which pairs nicely with these motors.

You will want 1/4" drive cable for this boat. If you have not already ordered the hardware, do spend the money on the Speedmaster G250 stinger drive. These have an integral square stub shaft so you can run a regular collet on the motor side and a square end on the stinger side. These drives are great as you cannot loose a prop of the cable breaks. Although I do not have a FE Superboat I did build a gas one. Picture of the transom attached.

That's good stuff, one correction though, I am running 700kv slightly higher than 600kv. Those 400 amps are hard to come by, but I'll keep an eye out. On the note of hardware, I already have the standard 1/4 speedmaster drive, however, your advice is solid, and I will take it, especially when taking into consideration the price of those steel props. In terms of connectors, I had an interesting but simple idea this morning, as I do have the soldering straps. Couldn't I increase the wire to about 4 gauge and solder it directly into the strap? This I based on the assumption that the straps are probably rated the same as the connectors, as they are designed to take them. I could be wrong. I do think it's a nice backup plan, though.

700Kv will run better than 600kV. The 30 series Lehner's run best above 25kRPM. Prop down a little more from my prior recommendation. Start with an X460 or similar and work your way up. Understood on the standard stinger, just make sure to use high quality 1/4" cable and use a shaft saver on the motor collet side. In my experience the shaft usually breaks at the weld joint given how much power and torque these motors output.

Yes, you can solder directly into the delta solder straps. The only reason I did not recommend that is you loose a serviceable connection since the leads on the ZTW 500 are also soldered. I prefer to have one separable connection between the motor and ESC. 4AWG would be appropriate.

I am back in the VI, and the build will pick up once the rest of my parts come in. I've spent today mocking up my servo mount and motor placement. I'm going to cut the brass tube shorter and pull the motor back roughly six inches. The blue tape is a marker for the hull's 30% CG.

Thanks for the update. If all goes well, I should be getting all my parts to complete the build by next week.
