    how does every body fasten a paper template to plywood for cutting in a band saw.i have a seaclear kit that has templates for sides and deck.i think contact cement leaves residue . lets see how you do this. tks Al

    I put 2 inch wide packing tape on the wood first then glue whatever you want do it

      I tend not to. If the plan is laser printed or photocopied turn the plan face down on the wood, tape the corners to hold it in place temporarily and iron it, which transfers the toner onto the wood directly, you can then remove the paper yet still have the drawings on the wood.

        I built a U7 hull from Newton plans last year. I cut out the parts from copies and used a glue stick to stick the paper templates to the ply then cut out with a band saw. It worked well and the paper came off easy enough later.
        I didn't know you could iron on the printing though, that sounds like a great way to do it.
