31" Whiplash for P Ltd Sport Hydro

I just started building this latest version of the Blazer Marine Whiplash. Thought it would be interesting to some to see how it differs from previous whips. It's very similar to the 34" that Mark Scott is posting in his thread, just a little shorter and narrower. All pics I take of this project will be in the album at the link below.

Still need to get the hull cleared. I haven't got as far as I had hoped. Maybe tomorrow.

New 31" version next to an original 20 Whiplash for comparison.

It looks like the old Whip 20 is larger.

The camera angle is playing tricks. The new one is an inch longer and about an inch wider.

2 questions...Is it available yet? I thought it was still going through testing and revisions. And will the new canopy work on the previous boat? I really like the look of the new canopy and haven't finished my electric version of the old boat.

As far as I know it's still in testing. Brian said earlier he was waiting on boats to actually get wet. The new cowl wouldn't be a direct fit on the original Whiplash due to the tub being wider. Nothing is impossible if your crafty enough. I always made my own cowls for fe whips so they could be made waterproof inside the tub.

I'm more concerned with the curvature matching the top deck...I can figure out something for the width. Is the curvature the same?

Worked with Brian last weekend and came up with some changes. Incorporated those and changed a couple other things. This was today's 3rd run. Please excuse the bad camera work and course language.

I can't say as I changed the shape of the top deck on mine. I'd say it's pretty close though.
