So in the attached pic if you look at the Rudder the front knife edge is designed tilted back . If I understand correctly this should cause lift at the front of the hydro correct?

No, lift from a rudder in turns is caused by angling the rudder pivot not the leading edge, that pivot looks more or less vertical to me, but if it was the pivot tilting the rudder back it would add lift in the turns (at the rudder, which being on the other side of the CoG would have the opposite effect to bow lift).

The tapered (both front and back) rudder induces a roll moment, putting more weight on the inside of the turn reducing the need to angle the turn fin.

Thanks for the explanation Paul. Thought I read on here somewhere that if you tilt the rudder forward or back it causes some lift or pushes the front of the boat down.
