    Delta Force 36 - NEU 1521 - 3s

    Hi all,

After various setups on my Delta Force 36", this is what I am planning next:

    1521/1D (2900 kv), 3s2p (5000mah 20-30c), 445, Himodel 200a

It is a very light hull with good hardware.

According to FE calc. it will draw about 160 amps, speed about 50 mph.

Please tell me what you think and if you have seen any similar setup. Thanks!

It "sounds good", but FE calc, is not always on piont.. Most 36" hulls I have ran and seen run, are all on 6S lipo total, running motors with 1150-1300KV... I personally would NEVER use the FE calc to get a set-up for any hull... just my opinion... I go with "proven" raceable set-ups, that have been tested by racers all across the country, not some computers formula... I trust expirience over computed data any day....

Never seen or heard of any set-up on a 36" hull running only 3S lipo or 11.1V total??
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

I agree with your comments. However, I got this motor in the past and I have to do something with it especially now in winter.
Running 4s would be too much I think, eventhough I've seen this setup in the MM. The only choice for me I think is 3s. I use the FE calc. just for an estimation of the Amps and watts and then testing is required.
Shall I sell this motor and buy another one or use it?

I agree with Rich, that motor on 3S will be low on power for a 36" mono. You will likely not get a reliable 50 mph and you'd better have high-quality cells, not Chinese junk. I've run the motor with success on 4S in a hydro, but that is a racing setup and even then there are better motors for that application. If you are happy with mid-upper 30s the 1D might work on 3S, but that's a big hull for 11 volts. If you want to run the 36" mono at good speed with reliability get another motor and try 6S. The lower amp draw will be easier on your components - ESC and cells - and speeds will be fine. Good luck!

I agree with the others, instead of 2p, go 6s1p with a 1500kv or so motor.

Thank you all, really appreciate. I will try a different motor at 6s1p.

Which motor shall I go for? I do not want to go racing, just for sport use but above 40 mph. But I believe that this will also depend on the propeller.
