    OSE adjustable mount

How are you attaching an OSE ( Etti ) adjustable mount to a FG hull ?

I have used one in a "V" hull and I actually eliminated the adjustable part. Since you shouldnt need to adjust after stuff tube is in. I used stringers and used 2 ton epoxy to hold those in place and bolted the mount between them. From there I made my tube to fit. I made sure I had everything pretty much in place and "dry" fitted so I knew what my angle needed to be and distance ahead of time. (IF) I had to keep the adjustable part I would feel safe just using the 2 ton epoxy on the fiber sides to the hull. Or some type of J-B weld would work.

I guess after thinking about it, my setup resembles and SV27 setup. I must also say the mounts are very nice and strong.

I simply epoxied mine straight to the bottom of my DF33 with MAS epoxy. It hasn't shown any signs of coming loose after 6 months of racing. Make sure you clean up the surfaces, and maybe roughen them up a bit as well.

I drill a few holes close to the bottom edge of the fiberglass part. Than the epoxy flows into these when I glue the mount into the hull.

I also drill holes so the Epoxy can get thru it. Not a one has ever come apart. I do prep the hull a bit for a good bite. In some case, depending on the mount I also lay a piece of FG over it as well or on the edges.

I've installed three of them so far like Scott mentions above. I rough sand the bottom 1/4" or so of the Etti side plates to roughen them up, then I use MAS FLAG epoxy. Thus far, I've installed them at the same time I've layed in the reinforcing materiel in the bottom of the hull, so it kind of turns into an integrated unit... No issues so far. On the Oberto 1/10th scale, I positioned the carbon tubing so that it rests on the outsides of the plates, so they are pretty well secured once the epoxy is layed in and sets...

I do like the suggestions to drill some holes across the bottom and will do that next time around...
