    Skater 47 twin repairs/rebuild

Got a second hand Bonzi skater since I?ve had my eyes peels for a few years for a twin electric build. Guy made me a damn decent deal for a boat that had never seen water. Packing on the internals was a little lackluster so when I received it the motor mounts were all separated from the hull. (Blessing mg in disguise I guess) since this thing would have probably torn itself apart on its maiden voyage.

I have since stripped the hull ground/sanded down all the previous epoxy/glue to get a nice clean surface and laid down a copper strand woven carbon fiber inlay that does tie into the top deck towards the front. For the motor mounts they were all reassembled using jb marine and then mounted back into the hull using the same. I now have nice solid mounts.

I made sure to install mounts with motors and flex shafts in place to ensure the flex cables fit the stuffing tubes on all sides with no binding and allowed them to cure for 48 hours before moving on.

Boat is running neu 825kv motors with castle hydra 240a esc?s and each side will be running 8s. Not a racer by any means but just something to go out and have some fun with that runs fast.

This is one side of the separated motor mount, all supports were broken as well

You can see the copper strand in the c/f I like to think it matches the paint a little bit. 111CDD6B-11D3-4EFE-8EF7-A41A442D5FFC.jpg

C/f before adding motor mounts and radio tray looks so clean and simple119C84EF-216E-4E9F-94F9-06ABC705E00D.jpg3F225DF4-596B-4153-82B2-FB70DA668E3A.jpg43E7A646-572C-4D61-9BA9-4C8C1681791E.jpg

It gets better with practice. That colored cloth looks nice out in the sun. I bet that boat is going to run well.

It was definitely easier than my first one, I?m hoping so, not even sure what to expect for speed.
