Is a seperate or combined prop and rudder assembly better for a wooden rigger build

I am currently building a wooden rigger boat that will be about 650mm long and am choosing running gear to put on it. I was wondering if it would be better to have the prop and rudder separate or on the same assembly. any advice greatly appreciated.
