from what ive read today, the 22 series lehner is more like the 1527 NEU, but I hope a 1521 has enough to swing some 447's,

I'd like to achieve a running boat for now, something I can charge the batteries up take out for a spin.

Later maybe I will start experimenting with higher cell setups if I can just get a 'cruising' setup working...
The 1521 motors are great 6s motors, I’ve been running them in my riggers for years with great success. These will certainly help you to get the speeds you need.

I have ordered the spektrum radio,

How do I go about mounting the receiver in a full carbon hull?

I installed a fibreglass plate to mount the old school receiver with that antenna... how does 2.4ghz work?

Make sure you order the receivers with the long antenna so you can get it out of the hull

You'll need to drill the hull and install an antenna mount. On the HPR, I think those look best on the rear deck, centered left to right, and a little closer to the hatch opening. As mentioned, the receiver will need to be installed close to this location to maximize antenna length outside the hull. I usually try to get 3 or 4 inches outside of the hull. I an effort to keep things neat, I usually plug everything into the receiver first, mount the receiver under the rear deck, then feed my antenna through the mount.

Not too sure what an antenna mount is?

if you look here, I did mount a hydro marine antenna but this was the old standard mhz radio...

So the 2.4 antenna just slides up the inside?

I also spoke to some European guys, the as26-150 apparently doesn’t work so well with the multipole neu motors... maybe this was the issue back in the day ?

Anyway... thinking the easiest thing to do is go with a trusted setup, sell the neu’s install some lehner 2250’s

Budget just went out the window...

Ohhh, I didn’t think of compatibility when I responded in PM. I know MGM controllers totally do not like Neu motors. Mmm, well back to a LMT recommendation of 1950’s or even a smaller 22 series. 2250 fit but really are a lot of motor for this size hull. Well for sport running anyway, if going for 120mph well then they are ‘the deal’

Sourced some 2250/7 for a very good price... hopefully this goes through and I’ll be selling some 1521/1y with about 5 minutes run time...

I did consider getting some different controllers but I don’t really want to cheap out on quality and the brands I’m used to such as schulz castle creations don’t exist anymore....

Great choice of motor mate, the 2250 motors will run really well on 6s and if you decide to run SAW on 8s these motors are scary fast. In my Q rigger I was using the ABC 2015-17-45 and 2016-17-45 prop, amp draw is a little high but the MGM28026 lites handles it well.

You’ll get very good speeds on a set of M447.

How much do you want for 1521 motors?

Thanks for the picture, I’m going to place a order with hydro marine for some accessories and parts I need... hatch fasteners, hatch tape etc... will also get an antenna from them,

Price wise on the 1521, I’ll have to figure it out..

I have some Andy brown x447 tongue cut which I’m going to try out, brand new still in the packaging..
