    My mm build

    hi everyone this is my second build i bought this mean machine from aeromarine 100 with hardware my setup in the boat is kb45xl 11 turnigy 100amp esc and 4s2p 4800mah i have a video i went to the lake today and it ran pretty good i started with a 440 and then a 442 everything was pretty cool when i took the boat out of the water to check temp the only thing that was getting hot was the motor it was under 100 but when its not being cooled anymore the temp rises when i got home it was at 160 but i guess since it was under 100 in the water its fine im new to electrics i will post the video asap so you can see my build and i wanna thank kevinlew211 and reddywatts for there help and all the infomation they gave me for this build

    You are running the 11XL or the 8XL?

      im runnin the 11xl i got a deal on it so i bought that instead of the 8xl the video is almost done uploading

          It looks great! Should be running around 50?

          The video looks like you have the KB45 11XL on 8S 1P?

          Might put some heat shrink on the motor bullet connectors, so they cant accidently short.

            thanks reddywatts its two 4s packs in series this week im gonna go and buy a 462 prop

            Might put some heat shrink on the motor bullet connectors, so they cant accidently short.

              Ok that is 8s 1P. You might want to try the 640 prop next? Should increase it 3-5mph. Will not see that much difference in the 640 and 642, mostly amps.

              That is the best sport setup I have seen in that hull. Looks really stable.

                is there a big diff from 462 to the 640 or 642 should i leave the strut where it is the esc stay really cool below a hundred that fan is doing its job lol

                  Yes, the 462 will smoke your controller. It will use over 200 amps.

                  Did you ever check your amps with the 442? Should check amps before moving up in size of props?

                    no i don't know how to check my amp draw how do you do that i thought if you drive it and everything is cool then prop up

                      Not with brushless motors. Dont depend on temps. It can blow equipment before you have time to take a reading or gets hot. Get a "watts up" meter to connect between your batteries and controller. It is real easy to use and will pay for itself in saved equipment.
