Power system question for new Catamaran Build

    Hello all,
New boater but long time hobbyist. I am building a 60ish inch catamaran with my boy this winter. I have a BLDC motor and esc combo that I want to use with this craft but I am just not finding information on these larger setups. The Motor that I have is a hand wound Neu 1917H/1.5Y that I have modified for watercooling. It is a 400kv motor rated at 4200 Watts max at 35krpm. It runs on 18s LiPo so I am trying to figure out which drive I want to put on this craft. The options are a 52mm DIY 3D Printed JetDrive, A single large prop, or dual counter-rotating props with a diy gearbox. I was kind of liking the jetdrive option just because they tend to like the higher rpm motors but I just wanted to ask the hive mind. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

60 inch and 4200 watts...Brings you nowhere. 400 kv and 18s with a 70-15-17 will send you to heaven..But it takes 15.000 watts.

      Can you elaborate on "70-15-17"?

        70mm x 15 = pitch 105. 70 mm x 17 = pitch =119.

So I need to look for another power system? Im not looking to break records. I am just looking to hit around 50mph, but that is just a goal. What would be a motor/esc/cell count that you would suggest for this build?

With 50 mph I would go for an outrunner. 500 kv, (light/12s.) and 55-57mm prop. On 12 s...You could have 20 min. of fun. With 400 kv I would go for 12 s.and a 62/14 prop...And great times for 20 min.

These are hybrid inrunners. They run a very large rotor and are designed to compete with outrunners. This is before I modified mine for watercooling. 20170601_225033.jpg20170601_225116.jpg
