    Triton Build Question / Opinion

    Hello out there!

Time to build one for me - winter project - and very much looking forward to it.

Toys Port Triton with a flood chamber. Question: To add a turn fin or not?

I do see a few setups with the fin on the opposite of the flood chamber and it is installed vertical. Is this the way to go and should it be vertical or at an angle.

She is going out for paint, pics will be later on.

    Thanks

I'm assuming you are talking about adding a fin to the LEFT side of the boat, and that it'll have one for sure on the right??

In my experience, a left-side fin is not necessary unless you are running Offshore and having to turn at speed to the left... Some like to use them like "training wheels" to help stabilize the hull in the straights... I feel this may be more of a band-aide for another tunning issue...

As far as orientation, I've always been under the understanding that the fin needs to be perpendicular to the bottom of the hull...

I've seen some alter this slightly to help hold the boat in the turn by making it more verticle... all of mine have always been perpendicular to the hull bottom and they seem to work fine...
