    ML RSX380 FE Outrigger (First Attempt)

    Hi all,

    This would be my first build and I'm looking to put together a material list for this ML RSX380. Found the kit and all suggested hardware. what I don't have is a shop or garage filled with all the little things to put it all together ie: glues, resins, epoxy's, sanding materials ect. What are you guys using for what and what are things I should be adding to the list that I would need? Ive read through a few wood builds (Bob Zola, MarkF, Luck as a Constant and Mooine) very helpful but these guys make it look easy, which it might not be for me ! Given there is some extra room in this model for batts I am thinking a 6s setup, I read the plans call for a 40X82 motor so I'm thinking a 1521, 1577Kv 1Y, I'm not racing, sport running right now but you never know. Looks to handle speed and turns very well and I would like to push it a bit, what do you guys think for target speeds, motors, props and getting it all balanced out? Any advise or tips would be much appreciated!

    Here is a start, let me know if I'm missing anthing or suggestions you may have. This is all basic stuff to most but for someone like me that is just starting from nothing it’s definitely a learning process. Maybe this list and build will be helpful to others that are also attempting their first one.

      Neu 1530 .75y (extra $45 competition wind) or
      Tp 4070 3y or 5d

        Thanks, Would there be any issue fitting the 1527 in? and in terms of efficiency, between the 1.5d@1500kv and the .75y@1640kv what would offer a more efficient setup?

          1527 will fit no problem if the tp4070 will and that is what Mark is using. Far as efficiency should be fairly close as the kv is not much of a difference.

              West system 105 and 206 hardner you can use for everything. When you are ready to seal just use some denatured alcohol to thin it a little more

                Okay, should it be thinned out a bit to apply the carbon inlay as well or leave as is for that?

                  Curious, I’ve seen some pictures (not of a finished boat but just for reference) of 2 5000mah 6s packs fitting in the back. Would this be to much weight to be running 2 6s packs in parallel? Wait those must have been 3s packs, 6s packs are huge! Nevermind

                    I don't actually own one of these just giving suggestions of what I would do. The battery part someone who has one or if you want to wait till you get that part finished then decide for yourself .On the inlay no it is thin enough for that.

                          Nice, that’s a good kit. It’s also convenient there is a option to pretty much get everything needed in one shot, hardware and all. Hopefully I’ll get my order in on Monday if I get everything figured out. Thanks again

                            If you're looking for steering linkage Steve sells 3mm rod that is threaded on one end for a 3mm aluminum ball end. My go to now for any linkage.

                              Thanks, no doubt a good option I’m also keeping my eye out for some fixed length rods threaded on both sides that I can use the ball ends on.
