    HPR C5009 Bulletproof Mystic

Got in the hull for my new shootout boat for next year. It's a 45" HPR C5009 bulletproof Mystic. Haven't ironed out all the details, but the plan is 100+ on 5S or less to keep me out of the big boy class. Trading and selling to pay for parts, so they'll start to trickle in slowly. Hope to have enough left over to have it painted with a team paint scheme from one of the boats that used to run in the Ozarks. But for now, just an empty, solid, hull...

My ESC's arrived today. Looks like they'll just fit over the center tunnel. No idea on how I'm going to mount them, but it won't involve zip ties.

You could stack em. And use posts like I have done . Or maybe a bit of a stringer on the side of the tunnel?

Stacking is a good idea, heat won't really be an issue. I'd have room to attach posts and create a double stack rack with a beauty panel on the top.

Oh and I had improvements on the original posts, crash proven

                        These are the originals

And if you look close at these (from Daytona)you will see the pucks that I added to give a greater bonding area

Really looking forward to your build Ryan. I'm thinking this might be the flagship of your fleet. If it is then I'm sure it's going to be very interesting quality build.

Been quite a while since this thread was updated. Several other builds got in that way, and unfortunately the HPR was shelved for a time. The goal is to have it ready for the 2019 Mini Shootout. I sent the hull down to kfxguy to have him make me a custom servo mount and set-up the rest of the steering system. While he had it in his shop, he put down a fresh piece of carbon cloth over the center tunnel to help clean-up the interior because of the spray paint from the previous owner. He also reshaped the rudder stand-off to match the mating surface of the original HPR rudder bracket and machined my MBP motor collets so they'd clear the carbon mounts.

Finally got the boat back in my shop earlier this winter, but not after it was mishandled in transit and smashed the rudder mounting bracket. You can see how the bearing got so deformed the race and seal popped out the side. No big deal, easy to swap out the part, except HPR no longer makes this particular rudder. I was able to get in touch with the new owner on Facebook and he found the last one they had in a parts drawer and shipped it over from Switzerland to the US. Problem solved and the insurance claim more than covered it.
