When to use what size flex cable.?

I only have experience with use .098 flex cable with ⅛props on 6-8 cells with a lightning man neo motor.
I'm planning my next build it will be 3s-4s and brushless 1800-2600kv. in a 3660 motor with a 150a esc.
When do you go from 4mm flex to 3/16? or does it matter that much?

Id rather go 4mm as I have bunch 4mm props already and I can sleeve 3/16th props to fit if I want to use my x442 props i have.
last time i built a FE boat 2002 and so much has changed since then. brushless , lipo with way more power etc. I'm still playing catch up.

A 4mm cable is close enough to 0.150". With that motor and prop on 3-4S you can use the 4mm. On full P power and up to 8S I always use the 3/16" cable, never broken one.
