    Catamaran Hull Struggles

Hi guys I was wondering if you guys could help me with my problem of getting the correct hull. I originally wanted to buy a tfl cheetah hull but when I went on Off Shore electrics it was out of stock and it does not seem like it will be coming back in any time soon. I want to do lap racing but from the information i gathered from other threads other hulls such as the Genesis are not suited for the job. The parts I wanted to use which I have, are a leopard 1730kv 4092, a 180 amp sea king and a 642 de tongued two blade prop. Does anyone have any suggestions for a hull.

Most of the cats available today are not well suited to oval racing, they are designed for SAW- type running and are too narrow. The Cheetah can be ordered directly from TFL if Steven is out. My personal Cheetah was fitted with a Neu 4082 1850 Kv motor, 4S and various props from an m445 to a y547. Depending on the speed requirements the Leopard 1750 motor should work well on 4S with props from y547 to x648 or x452...or more for SAW-type runs.

I suggest emailing Steve. You can't order direct from tfl and get a decent deal, you have to spend several thousand bucks on your first order. If Steve can't accommodate you them pm me, I have an account with tfl and I can get you a cheetah.

How about a Zelos? Just a bare hull, not sure if they come predrilled but it's no biggie to fill those holes. Thought I saw one for sale a bit ago here on the forum

I never really thought about the zelos I will take a look.
I also contacted tfl and they said it would cost me around 80 bucks to get the hull shipped express.

Regarding the overall speed which prop should I use for lap racing and get a good high 50 out of it.

What about an Aeromarine Mean Machine, they are good oval cats. Again out of stock with Steve, but made in USA so there are several USA dealers and available direct.
