No I did not. I could re-set it up and get one though. It was in a 32" cat, but not a HOTR. Ive since gone to a 9Xl... why you ask.. I have no idea.. something to do. I figured I could run it more on 5S and be closer to 50 w/ out pulling a lot of amps. Im running an Etti 150 OPTO That was 4 months or so ago... how many times have I run it on 5S? NONE. How many times on 4S? Maybe 2... Im a discrace to the FE world sometimes.....

EDIT, just checked my notes. 5S Using a 3S1P 5000 30C and a 2S1P 5000 30C and a 442 was 54.8mph. And in my notes I have , " didnt check temps but a light puff of smoke came out when hatch was removed. Nothing felt abnormally hot."

To me you are close to role model.

I run close to that setup in my big cat which is a touch bigger that the hotr 32
        I have 4500mAh 30C packs feeding a 9XL via a Mystery 200A ESC

The best prop I have run so far is a 440/3 that was touched up by Scott (ozzie-crawl)
It is better than a 442 but I have yet to try the 640 or 642 with the new strut settings. The 440/3 blows it over so gawd knows what the 6xx props will do.

9XL on 5S to a 442 or a 440/3 should run warm but not hot.
        See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I ran mine with a Propshop 4216/3 it hit 68mph no blow-over but it did have two 3s 5000mAh Li-Po's in it to keep it down.......
No idea what it will do in your setup.... but, if you remember, my setup was all wrong and it cooked my packs!

Finally, i think that the upside - down servo works good !!!
This is the first run with my new cat. Low speed, just for testing.

            Basic setup :
            Motor : 2700 rpm/V, Bat : 2 x 3s parallel 3000 mah, Esc : 120A,
            Prop : 440.

            I have to try a bigger prop. Maybe i need a 442 or 445.

However, your on the right track w/ the 2 - 2S lipos in series as 4S. You will get by on the 120, but your really close to maxing it out. On a 442, within 10A or so. An 8XL is not a good idea on 6S, if you want it to last. And certainly not a sport boat or race boat set up. It would be a couple SAW passes, just to say "Wow!"... You will have a mid 40s boat on an 8XL on 4S which the HOTR hull will handle wonderfully. Im curious to know how your RTR runs, as Ive been asked by a few how fast it may go, and have noly guessd low/ mid 30s on a 3S set up, which is what I rhink is recommended.. at least in the set ups Ive seen as RTR. So keep us posted and good luck w/ the hull. You will without a doubt love it.
Well the 4s on the stock motor smoked the motor 2 passes around the pond and poof.......the magic smoke got loose. She hauled the mail for a minute or 2 but then, turned into a decoy. So now I have a turnigy 180 amper coming and still looking for a good motor (got any ideas somewhere quick.) Props I have a few that I may lab myself since I can do the 1/1 props here in the shop. not much different just a lot smaller.

We shall see how the 8xl will go on the 2-2s30c packs in series.

                Thanks for the pointers fellas

                already having fun with it.

Start 7.5 to 8.5 from the back of the Sponson... not the transom. It should be somewhere within those numbers.

EDIT. Oh, prop... start a bit smaller.. maybe 442. Mine runs better on a 442 than a 642. Cooler and a bit faster.

Your also going to be a bit over your rating for your 120A esc on a 642. You may be around 130-135. That may not be a good thing.

Oh crap.. and you CANNOT run a 8Xl on 6S... and certainly not a a 120A esc. IN less then 30 seconds you eill have a burnt motor, esc and a boat that is filled w/ black soot.

8XL is a 4S motor... maybe 5S for quick two pass "lets see what it will do"./ But a 120A esc will not handle 5S on an 8XL without problems. Not trying to shoot you down by all means.. just want you to have happy boating.

It all depends on the KV rating of the motor. The 12XL or 13XL will run nicely on 6S, that's what I'm planning into my scratch cat.
