I did reinforce the hull. And for all of my work the hull did the eggshell thing!

The HOR hulls are very thin. Everybody with FE wants light weight. I'm here to tell ya...BS! You need some weight to keep it on the water.

I second that, with the power we have today, build it like a tank, long as it floats you're good;-)
You sure won't have a cracking hull when properly built or reinforced.

I use fibreglass for sides, this one is easier than carbon layer to adjust on the lenght of the hull and I use corbon for bottom of the hull

Almost an entire pool noodle is in there. The bulkhead isnt secure yet. Its all coming back out and Im going to strengthen the seem of the hull. Also repair the notches that are in the lip for the hatch. No idea why they are there??? Trying to figure out which way to go as well w/ the bulkhead. Whether to leave it solid with a hole drilled in it and plug it when I run, or cut bits and pieces out as some kind of patern.

Did anyone see my servo mount in my twin build thread???

one thing i see awhile back was cut a hole (round or square) in the centre of the bulkhead, make a removable plat that screw over it, you then fill it with bean bag foam balls and screw the cover on.

                          Tiqueman,

                          The pool noodle is heavy,
I like to use closed cell foam.
You can buy the foam from your local hardware.
It is very easy to cut and shape it to your spoonsons.
I've used it on a few of my hulls now and never had a problem with it.
If you cut it out very close to the shape of the spoonson no need for reinforcing the front seams.
I have watched as my Simrad cat crashed and did about 7 cart wheels across the water , When this happened i thought for sure that it would be damaged but she came back without a scratch. Thanks to the foam and the bulk heads which makes the hull almost bullet prof.

Hmm, I could do that. Is it the foam though that has helped your boat stay together or the construction. The HOTR is a VERY lightly layed up boat. Im thinking the seems will still need reinforced. As for the weight... should I worry about it in this one? May need a littlle to keep her on the water?

                                Tiqueman,

When i add the foam to the front of the hull , i make sure that it is almost a perfect fit.
I think this is the key to keeping my hull together because the foam does not allow the hull to flex or move.
The bulkheads just keep everything in its place.

If you think it needs more glass cloth on the seams . good idea , it will help.

                                WEIGHT
Better to add weight for strengthening the hull structure , bulkheads, foam, glass reinforcement.
Makes for a bullet prof rocket.

I've crash my Simrad cat about 4 times where i though the cat would come back in all smashed up. And every time its come back , not a scratch.
Its all because its built strong.
