    good call simon
i have had acouple of hotr cats and think for the money they are a fairly good hull
like a lot of electric layups they can do with some reinforcement
the inline strut/rudder can make it real twitchy at speed
i now run a mean machine i personally think its a better hull all round
it turns much better handles more chop and is more stable at high speed, but it doesnt look as nice as the hotr cat and is heavier
will be interesting to see how scotty,s new cat hull will go it looks nice
i think comparing hulls some times is really hard as it will depend on to many factors like, motor, esc, batts, prop, hardware, what the person wants from there boat and most importantly there setup
i think the hotr cat has proven to be a very good budget build boat
i think you could easy build one for less than the price of a blackjack
or sv27 and have a much better boat
    just my 2c

I want to share my experience with this strut from HOTR (4mm shaft)

The best way to use 3/16" propellers is to install a Graupner drive dog and a brass tube on the shaft, like this, the shaft won' t move in the struder

I hope that will help you, easy, not expensive, great !!

Oh man! This is funny but come on! Like Simon O says, just let it be!!!
I joined this forum and this thread to learn about the HOR and to get the best out of it, I'm fitting mine with a GPS this weekend to see just how fast it is. Hope it doesn't sink, I borrowed the GPS!!!! Anyway, After the speed run is out of the way, I want to get it into race trim, i.e. ready to race reliably but still run strong! This is becoming a big learning experiance for me and I'm lovin' it!!!
Thanks for all the help guys!! :-)

I was supplied with the same strut as you have there, I changed the blade with the Ocutra one with a skeg and fitted the Octura flexi too. works fine, I wonder whether if the skeg improves handeling???? Hmmm????

But I'm a bit more cautious. But if you are doing this reliably with good temps on all your components (motor, ESC, Batteries) have fun with it. It's just not what I would run.
Well!!! That puts an end to my HOR32!!!!
Just been to the lake put her in and off I went..... After about a minute I noticed it wasn't very quick like before so I was on the way back to have a look and BANG! One of the Li-Po's blew up! burnt inside, wrecked Gellcote/paint/graphics!!!
Split the bow between the sponsons and it's just a whole load of mess inside!!!
                I feel sick!

Did you make a mistake hooking up your packs or some connection came loose for it to blow up? That sucks dude!! Can't imagine how you feel.

I don't know what has gone on???
Last week was the first time I ran it with the Li-Po's, It did take a roll but when I got it back I took the batteries out and sat them for like an hour or so to make sure they were ok.... That was last week and the thing was flying!

This week, It was probably half speed and I thought I might've picked up some weed or something????

                    Then it went!

The packs were all pluged in as they should be... I don't know, I am gutted! I've just stripped the boat out and started to clean it up! It stinks!!!

It's even melted the bottom of the rudder servo and that was just the chemicals!!!

EC Power, 3S, 5000mAh Got them through E-bay from China! Very cheep but I'm not sure what I would rather have, A fire because of a bad set-up or because of cheep Li-Po's????

Its also possible that on the last run you nuked the magnets on the motor. That would decrease rpm and highly increase the amps. Maybe start another thread with the boat info so it doesnt make more of a mess of this thread.

Agreed. Post some pics. Perhap it can be repaired. Many here will assist with recommendations.

How can I tell if I have killed my motor? I have pic's on my profile of it before the burn out but I've stripped it now for repair...
I have started a new thread as sugested..... (Help with my HOR32 needed...)
