Very nice running boat Pate, great video that sucka gooooos Now I want to get mine built

The boat jumping to the right is the torque roll caused by the prop, not sure if that can be corrected but love the way it jumps out of the water, very cool.

ksm 2001 is absolutly right. Before on plane, when it's porposing it rips the sponsons out of the water. There is no sponson to water contact to counter act the prop walk. I like how she runs too! have you tried a sweeping wot turn yet?

Pate, do you have to counter left with rudder at full speed or does she run straight?
If you have to counter you may try to have the prop pointing left a bit!
            Another nice run BTW!

Emmanuel, I cant remember that! -it was 2 days ago -I dont think that it needed any countersteering.

              Did some(major) filler work today.

The paint theme will be ....Ferrari. Did the decals allready and got some "Rosso Chiaro" paint for it.

Here it is after first primer coat.

anybody know the size of brass tubing that comes in the artr. mine came today hong kong to cali in about three days, pretty fast. Not a blemish or crack on the boat but looks like the drive got hit and pushed the brass tubing, kinked it and broke the epoxy around where it enters the hull. kinda bummed out.

I dont know the size of that tube, but I think that it is in mm,not " .-I am not sure though.

Ask Ken (ksm2001), he changed his to 3/16 cable so he could know the correct size.

Sorry ,don't know the tube size, I ordered the bare hull and only the strut/rudder without the flex cable and tube.

                      I HATE DUST!

Just clearcoated it and moved it inside to dry...big mistake. dust.dust.dust...

Maybe wetsanding will remove the dust. -then hopefully the finish will still be ok(ish)

                        Pate,
Wait at least a week and then gently wet sand with 1500 grit and then polish.

                            ?

I used Motip (I think it´s Dublicolor in the USA)

And I used thin coat of plastic primer,2 coats of red primer, few coats of Ferrari red and 2 clear lacker coats.

This is fast drying paint system , 24hrs sould be enough.b4 wetsanding it (says 2hrs to dry compleatly on the lacker can). I have it in a heated room(33Celcius) so it will dry fast.

This have to be ready on saturday(a photograpfer who I know is coming to take some action shots).

If the paint goes with the hatch tape I just do it again... -the biggest job is done anyways...(smoothened the sides -took ALOT of filling and sanding)

That is funny, as most of you know my hate of clearcoat, but the horror that has happened and my suggestion to Pate is just that.
Pate, not is all lost, if after wet sanding and polishing with a product that has no wax, it can be fixed without removal of all prevoius paint.

You dont like clear! -why...do tell!

I like it cause it is harder /more durable then the paint. Ok, it is more work when fixing chips and scuffs, but it makes things soo shiinyy....
