    Flex cable

Normally you set the flex cable with about 5mm of space from the rear of the strut. My question is, is there any issue cutting the cable 5mm longer this way when you slip it into the collet and it sits against the pinion you have the 5mm space at the end of the strut so you never have to set it. Thanks

Nothing wrong at all. Just the time it takes to pay attention to cut it that way. You may like to trim it down a bit later should you need to dial some negative into your strut. But all good

Where possible, I adjust my motor mounts and collet position on the shaft to have the flex bottom out in the collet and leaving the correct gap at the drive dog.
