    I'm ADDICTED!!!!! Another Cat build

Well, I havent finished my Mean machine build yet, and I am starting another. I picked up one of those ebay Chinese knock off hulls. I think I am going to do twin proboat or sv motor/esc's for power. I haven't decided yet, but I do know this will be a twin. Some quick picks to get you started.

The sound of a twin setup is so much cooler then single , we just finished testing our HPR06 with twin setup top speed is now 101kph or 63mph .
Setup we used is 2 feigao 540XL9 each on 6s lipo 45mm K-prop but it still needs some adjustments .

A hpr06 is bigger and havier then the china clone so our setup is way to much , the ideal twin setup would be 2 feigao 540s8 125amp esc on 2s lipo but a feigao 380L8 on 3s lipo is also a option.

I will follow this thread to see how you built yours .

        grtz

i have wanted to do a twin for awhile.i like the build process plus twins look and sound cool. i have tought of the 380l8 option but wasnt sure if they would be enough to push this hull at a good speed

Maybe use 540 L cans instead of the 540 S cans... lower amp draw, it'll be easier on the system... just control the speeds with the prop... if you decide to go with the L can I have 2 NIB 8L motors that may suit your application... let me know.

it running the best just yet though still getting things sorted, possibly this weekend i will have some luck though, will be great to see with two 540's though, i am considering a neu of some breed for this also.

Well this just got put on hold. When I recieved the hull on Sat, it was damaged. This is the second boat in a row the UPS damaged in shipping. The first was a MHZ hull and now this one. If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all.

This one is on the bottom. I could live with this.

                          Well........
I have one of the already painted "apparition" hulls coming now for this build. I decided to go with a single power system starting with a hydra 120 and going from there. Now I just have to wait for the thing to come fron China. It should only take a day or 2. Right??????

                            re :

I've been looking at this hull to replace my Drifter, but I have a question : If a single motor setup is being used, what inline strut/rudder assembly is available ? It looks like the Chinese hardware uses a 4 mm drive system, which I'd like to avoid in favor of the 3/16" stuff.

I think you could use fullers cat hardware. I went with the 4mm hardware from the hull manufacturer. I'll change it out if I'm not happy with it. Here a pic if anyone doesn't know what they look like, but I'm sure we've all seen this before.
