    Revolt rebuild

    Hi there,
    It's not very exciting compared to some of the masterful work here, but I'm rebuilding my Father's Revolt with a bit of gear from my decommissioned boats. The parts list is as follows.
    120 amp Seaking ESC
    HET 2250 KV 3668 motor
    Futaba 2PK radio
    OSE upgrade cable and bush
    I'm also planning to use a bit of CF and West Systems epoxy to make it a little more rigid, and change the rudder blade.
    It's only a mild working, but I don't want it to be too 'swimmy' either.

    If you wanted too, this would be a good opportunity to repaint as well. Otherwise, everything looks good.

      I'm not going to repaint as I don't think I could do any better than what's on there, but I have removed all the stickers and are planning a bit of new signage. I forgot to mention that this boat will have one 4S 5000 MAH battery.

          Righto, I'm roughly finishing the stringers which will hold the engine mount,battery and include a gap for the battery strap. I put the same angle as the hull on the bottom of the stringers for a good epoxy contact area.
          Normally in my builds I like to mount the steering servo to the stringers as well, I don't think that will be possible this time as it's going to be very busy back there. I have to have the motor a long way back to keep the C.O.G. in the right place. But we'll see.
          I fabricated an engine mount out of 50mm square ali. extrusion. It's not much of a looker as the driveshaft on this hull is about 7mm offset.
          I'm changing the 5.5mm connectors on the motor to O.S.E. brand ones. I like the longer length.

              Try taking your pictures from further away. Your camera can't get the right focus because you hold it too close to the subject. You can see it focuses on your background instead.

                Update time....I had a little delay as the original coupler wasn't running true, a quick order over to the good folk at OSE for a new Octura coupler and a few other goodies.                   ...the original hull only had the water hose passing through the hull so I'm adding a bit of through hull hardware for the hoses and a bit of ali tube for the new pushrod sealIMGP0809.jpgIMGP0808.jpg

                    O.K. the steering servo is too big to stand up attached to the stringers so I'm laying it down. I make two 5mm ali plates to locate the servo and carbon fibre them in place.                       righto... A few bits and pieces. Prepare the loom. Reciever and batteries etc. in a waterproof container. Buoyancy foam put up front. Velcro etc put on bottom for battery.IMGP0814.jpgIMGP0813.jpgIMGP0815.jpg

                        Well that's it. A bit of extra epoxy here and there. Set up the strut parallel. Check the C.O.G. A quick test for leaks in the bath tub. Put a little sponge under the motor to mop up loose water. I'm heading up to the pond starting with a 42mm 2 blade 1.4 prop. Will be using an Eagle tree logger to measure amps.                           Hi All, I took a little video of the revolt's first run. The Eagle tree tells me it's only pulling 95 amps peak so I have a bit of prop up my sleeve. The camera work's a bit dodgey but you can get the idea.
