how to set up a twin genesis

    hi all,

I just picked up a twin genesis, its having a little torq roll and cooling issues.
it has right and left spinning props does it matter what side they are on? I have seen either side in pics.
one motor is normal & the other is, reversed (spinning the way the prop should).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spinning in vs spinning out changes the way the boat handles, but you shouldn't be having torque roll issues at all. Torque roll is caused by a rotational mass (motor) or force (prop) that causes the boat to spin around the axis instead of spinning the prop. Creating opposing masses/forces cancels this out.

Make sure your flex shaft are spinning in the proper orientation. Yes there is a left and right flex cable. Make sure the struts are level with the hull and each other. You can do this by laying the hull flat on a table. Make sure you rudder is tight with very little play.

We need more information to help.
      What motors?
      What ESCs?
      What props?
      What voltage?
What is overheating, and how hot is it?

I notice the cable savers are installed incorrectly - move them tight against the motor couplers.

Bad case of hammer toe BTW.

Not surprised you having cooling issues looking at your water cooling layout, firstly y connectors are a bad idea anyway on a cooling system. You need to connect 1 rudder pick up pipe direct to 1 esc then from the esc to the appropriate motor & then to the water outlet. So you have 1 separate pick up feeding 1 esc & 1 motor.

I also see that it has two different motors. Different motors from different manufacturers may have the same specs, but that doesn't mean they truly are the same.

How hot are the ESCs getting? Just being hotter than the motors does not by itself mean a problem. What is the timing setting?

You do not need bigger tubing, just to reroute them. On one side, water flows from the transom to the ESC then to the motor then out of the boat. Other side the same way.

Thos esc have defolt timing on high and you must have low timing. To bad you cant change timing on that esc so you will have to bye 2 new...
I did the same cr 1 year ago.

By a rudder with twin pickups is the easyest!
And you must try that beast in 5s you will not be disapointed!!!

the rudder has duel pick up, I hope I can hook 5s up at some point that's why I bought this boat to go fassst.

Turn the motor coolers so that the output tube is at the highest point on the motors.

Then do as fluid say and yore cooling is done.

I go with T180 the same as swordfich 180A
                          Driveing 3,75 timing.
Test yore engins furst if they both are the same engine ofcorse.
At 5s i can not go full trottel even for a second... Im going to try when the time feels right
