Not sure if I will get a answer on this forum but I thought I would try since they sell them at the ose website. Can the surface drives ose sells be used on a 26cc 36" gas boat?

Surface drive just means that only part of the prop is submerged. Nearly every single boat pn this forum is surface driven. What "surface drive" are you referring to? What boat do you have? The only difference between a gas/nitro and an electric is the coupler. The rest of the drive assembly is identical. -
.25" even in a 36"? I know there are quite a few bigger electrics running .187". That 26cc can't be more than 5hp. A 4082 will hit that power level harder.Comment

Boat size makes little difference. Popular QuickDraw 26 cc engines make almost 8 hp. Every 26cc gas boat I've seen - and I have seen hundreds - ran a 1/4" cable. Realize that the vibrations from a single cylinder two-cycle engine put a lot more stress on the driveline than even the most potent FE. Too, prop diameter is way bigger than most FEs, 70 mm is not uncommon. Try that with a 3/16" cable....

So I assume the OP has a mono. Yes, the HD 1/4" drive stinger will work just fine, it is a SpeedMaster which is what most gas racers use. None of the others are suitable IMO.

Thanks gents. I'm really into tunnels. But I have a Aeromarine 36" sprint cat hull laying around. It's in great shape. It was my first gas boats. I stripped it of the motor and Hardwear. Hard wear in a box and motor on a outboard. Trying to choose which way to go with it. Gas it? Electrify it? Or list it. It has all speed master Hardwear. It has a strut bit if I do any kind of build I want a stinger. Thanks for everyone's input.Comment
