hull twist

i had a hull painted from a body shop, got it back and noticed that the hull has a twist in it. not sure it was that way before are from body shop after paint. fiber glass hull, now with all the paint. is there a way to get this out and allow the cat hull to lay flat for building. are is it trash. help please

What brand/name is the cat hull? How far out of square is it? Balanced on three points, how high is the other corner? You may be able to sand the high parts a bit, or it may be okay as is, it depends. I once tried to straighten a big cat by placing it on a flat surface with lots of weight inside out in the hot Texas sun for a few days - didn't help but if I were you I'd try it.

Another way you can fix this is by doing a heavy CF inlay reaching as far into the bow as possible, and then putting a lot of weight on it while it cures. It should stay flat as long as you do a few layers. If it's a drastic twist, I'd do about 3-4 layers of cf.

ok i will get it out out the box and take a few pics and measure it. shows to be high on two points left front back right. hate tto loose it with all the art work on it. even the hatch is hard to put in. it was a surge crusher i got as a gift. bare hull, got two at the same time

Paint job is really cool but why would you spend that much for a custom paint job on a cheap China hull? My brother has one of those and he sprayed rattle can on it and then some custom vinyl. He customized it to run on 5S and a few flips later: spider cracks in the paint everywhere.

What I can say about twisted boats (cats) is that happens more than expected..this is a problem during the joining/gluing process mainly when parts are glued out of the molds....yes paint job is very nice though.

If it was painted in a spray booth with heat it was possibly hung to dry with the heat causing it to warp, I would try Fluids suggestion.

well the paint was free from a guy that was doing work on a car, he did the boat with the car for free, hull is a cheap surge crusher that was a gift from the wife, she had found them at a estate sale she was at. i have one more bare hull/ so i thought i would let him do his thing on it.

well dang , went to get it out and the wife put it in the closet when they delivered the tile. 2000 sq foot in front of the door, guess i will wait to try to fix it now, not moving all that heavy crap lol
