    Carbon fantasm twin build

I used to own this hull and it exchanged hands twice and I ended up with it. I really wasn't in a position to buy it (was just about to leave for Minnesota to have heart surgery) when it went for sale so I had to sell my rigger to get it back. That's ok, I really regretted selling it anyway. I had already done an inlay in it and reinforced it so the part I hate most is done. It came with a non gel coat fiberglass hatch for Gps use.

With my recovery from heart surgery I expect this to be a little slow going at first until I can spend more time in the shop. Right now I'm limited as I'm still in some pain. So bare with me.

    Here's my plans:

    Tp power 4050 2050kv on 6s
    Ose raider 150 escs
    Mbp push pull scale rudder
    Mbp smart drives
    Mbp billet collets
    Ose flex shafts
3mm carbon motor mounts made by Monojeff
    Battery trays made by Monojeff
    Spektrum low profile s6230 servo (311 oz-in!)

I plan on running two 3s packs in series per motor. Props will be abc starting with 1815's

Here's the hull on the left compared to my Rivercat on the right. 41" for anyone not familiar with this hull.

I did feel pretty good today after cardiac rehab so I decided I'd do something easy and put a few layers of glass on the hatch to reinforce it. I added 4 layers. Probably will add more after these layers cure. It's gotta be extremely strong to withstand anything I throw at it.

I did get some goodies in today. I'm kinda disappointed but happy at once because I already had one of the motors and I just ordered a matching one. Well the one I had already had a straight 5mm shaft. The new I just got has an 8mm shaft machined down on the output end to 5mm. I much prefer that so I had to order another motor. I'll likely sell the non matching motor.

So here's part of my plan. This long plate will be shortened and the servo will be mounted in it. I'll make a billet holder for the push pull cables for the steering that will mount to the plate. Then the smaller plate will be right under it with the battery gauges showing similar to the picture. (Those aren't the battery trays for this boat)

              Thanks!

Yes the 4050 and 4060 are power houses. The 4070 I find is pretty weak.

I find these little escs might be on the under rated side. I purposely put one through the wringer in a mono I have and it never broke a sweat. As I prop up, if it starts to get hot, I'll put a pair of swordfish 220's in it. I guess this setup is temporary

                    Thanks.

Yes, the newest one has an 8mm shaft so I had to order another matching one.

So I shortened the plate and cut the hole for the servo. That's about all I could get done. I guess I'm bending over the counter or something because my back starts killing me. I can walk around just fine and it don't hurt. I'll have to pay attention next time.

Got my drives and rudder in. Thanks to shua (josh). He had this setup for one of his boats and decided to go a different route so we worked a deal. Thanks again buddy!

And because I was excited and impatient I decided to mount the rudder and cables. Well it had to be spaced out or else there was barely any room for the cables to move making the rudder barely move. So now I need to decide what to do with the ugly spacer. Need some input on this guys. So should I: powder coat it matte black? Polish it? Or make it brushed aluminum?
