You can of course leave the water jacket & just bolt on or glass in a couple of brackets to the rear of the motor mount further back so that the tail ring will fit behind the water jacket. Just a couple of bits of thin carbon fiber plate or aluminium will do the trick.
Offshore actually sell a little kit, but the brackets are easy enough to make

But you can just see the aluminium brackets I added in these pics for the tail ring.
I dont think that this trick Works for me with this jacket. it is realy long and there is no space left on the motor for the rear support even with this. I think I am gonna go for shorter jacket immediately.

You could glue a wedge of wood under the rear of the jacket with a hole in, then put a zip tie round the jacket to hold it down.

That's a good method that works too Paul.
Anything to keep the motor in line with the stuffing tube tuncd.

looking at the pictures i think there's enough motor left to put the ring on
good thing somebody pointed it out , i guess you wouldn't got far with the motor hanging on like that !!

I tend to agree. There is enough room to get the ring on there. You may need to file a few nicks in the ring where the screw heads for the endbell are to get it fully on.
But I have had the rings only half way on to the motor because of those bolts & it held just fine.

I tried it but jacket leaks from the front side. Ordered shorter jacket already from RCECHO. But the store is not a serious one. I can not see my orders on their webpage. They did not even respond yet.

                One other small point.
Have your water outlet from the motor strait up at the top, so you get full water circulation around the motor.
