    KBB mono with MTC hardware

Here is a quick look at the near completed boat... This is a very simple build... west systems over all wood before installing, made a custom fit esc mount for the esc, the size and location will work for many esc's so its not single use lol.... I extensively used the O ring technique :) just a clean easy build, should run out well... 8s, and at some point will try 9s, and hoping to use 10s for speed blasts...

all that's left now is to tidy up my esc/rxr wiring (going to shorten the esc to motor wires to 1 inch long near direct shot) and tidy up the wiring ....

    equipment is as follows:

    KBB 34" mono hull
MTC rudder, drive, trim tabs, and china turn fins lol
TP Power 4070 1090kv motor with OSE jacket / Mount
    7954SH HV hitec servo
Hanger 9 ball bearing servo rod linkage
    .187 flex
A highly modded lol... turnigy monster 2000HV esc with Castle Cap bank, 3d printed base plate with a underside fan installed and upfitted with water cooling
6.5mm castle connectors all around on everything.

For control I'm using my DX9 black "air" radio with a DSMX ar8000x and satellite rxr... boy the DSMX and the HV servo combo make the steering on this thing ballistic fast! I will like having 3 full sets of steering D/R and expo at the flip of one switch... plus the turnigy monster works very well with the air RX and stick radio... being I had them on hand I felt I'd do the "german" thing... :) and use my stick TX....

BATTERY Velcro strips are temporary until I run it and find the CG, then the Carbon batt trays will be installed with a bit more knowledge of where they need to be... hopefully no lipos are harmed during this testing :)

Nice, clean and simple layout. Little tip:

You'll need to change Cg depending on how how many cells your running. I'd highly recommend installing the long battery trays so you can more the batteries fore and aft. With less cells it likes the batts to the rear. For speed runs it likes them a little further up. Your layout is just right to put the batter trays on the side of the motor.

The Flex to coupler length isn't as long as it appears lol... the bronze bushing for the coupler was on the workbench... as you can see the coupler threads are all the way up... its actually only about 3/8" from the coupler to the brass flex tubing.

Thanks Travis, where did you get your trays? I have some shorter ones on hand hence why I didn't install them.... you think this is to hot of a setup for smallish x445-447 prop on 10s?

Just maidened on a cut down x447.... basically 46mm now, ran it on only 7s... 45mph, its pretty heavy with the batts in it.... but boy it sure doesn't hurt the handling.... this thing cuts like a knife, and the boat is VERY stable on plane... of course only going 46 mph now on the 7s but its rock solid... LOL temps came in literally room temperature... 87 degrees on motor, 88 on esc... guess that fan is doing its job too... but I was only running 7s.....after work I'll try 8s... and maybe 9s if I have time and temps are good still....

BTW I had worried a bit the big MTC rudder would be to much.... I was wrong... seems to work amazingly!!! I was VERY happy with the boat in the turn... flat, level, no hop... just carved!

My first run on 6s was under 50mph. After tuning it went 70. Move your batteries as far back as you can and give it a touch of positive with trim tabs level.

Travis what KV / motor was in yours? just wondering if 43k rpm on 10s is to much lol.... mine is a 1090kv TP....

7s was only a test run... 8s was for sport setup.. and what the boat will run on mostly... So I'll try that next, and I already have a touch of positive on the drive... also packs were pretty far back... don't know how much farther back they will go... I imagine propped up the 7s would be quicker, but wanting to try what the boat was intended for first... I figured I'd try 7s just to be on the safe side...

thanks for the tips though trav.... def a great hull!

I have a lehner 1644kv (which is actually 1808kv going by lehner formula) and it ran 90-91 on 8s. So 53,516 unloaded! Lol

Then I went 84 with a 1500kv neu 1527 on 8s so 44,400..... Why is the neu so close? My theory is the neu has more tq and I used a better prop with the neu. I had a m447 on the lehner setup and the neu I had a abc 1914

Lol... it sounds in theory then by your standards my 4070 1090kv on 10s would be a mild setup!

what type of amp draw did you have with yours ? Thanks Trav.... looking forward to getting that cheetah in the mail in a month! a Big Thanks for all your help on that order with TFL too!

Your doing good there pal, I was 46-48mph in my twin with 1100kv's on 8s running 45mm props.
Completely different hull but a good quality mono.

I was low 200's max with the neu but the lehner it pulled 240-299 amps

I was wondering the same thing about the drive, I have two of these. Extremely robust design.

Werner is great to deal with, but if MTC has something thats really close thats definitely good to know.
