C1 Flowmaster rebuilt and upgrade thread

    Hi everyone!
I have been thinking about this thread for a long time before i decided to start it. So, here is a resume of my C1 Flowmaster evolution and i will post all my questions about the boat in this thread, in order to keep all the info at the same place!
I started like everyone would do with a new boat, i tried it stock for a few runs. The boat is running very good on stock setup, a 40mph setup out-of-box. Temps are great, as in they stayed at ambient temperatures running the boat in a normal manner. Then i tried running it much harder, and noticed the stock ESC were heating a bit on stock props(4:00min run at wot and they got at 105*F). And on that test run, i broke the two starboard props i had. Just like every C! Flowmaster owners. While searching for similar props, and could not find any affordable set, i came across these:http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...x_13_1pc_.htmlhttp://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...x_13_1pc_.html. Swapping to those props got me an extra 13 km/h(8mph), putting the top speed at +/- 78km/k(48mph). But I'm a speed addict, so , i ordered a pair of those:http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Inrunner.html. I want to go 4s and maybe 5s if the hull can take it. I also ordered a reversed x440/3, x442/3 and .013 flex to test at some point.

I also tried 4s on the stock motor, and they handle it very well(as in not even heating up). I don't know for how long they will last, but i suspect it will be a long time. This is very good!!!

I did some FG in the back part of the hull in order to reinforce it. I mostly did the flanks and around the hatch opening. For future owners, take a look at the bow section of your boat, some times, it is missing some epoxy at the joining edge, at least, it looks like that on mine.

For now, i will continue testing the stock motors on 4s, and when they will die, i put the 2730 kv in there and try 5s.

I received my props last week! A reversed x440/3 & reversed x442/3. I want to try the x440/3, but i'm not sure on how many cell. I'll be using the 2860/2730kv(can take up to 5s). I will use the x442/3 with the two CC1415-1Y 2400kv i have. But it will only be for the next season. Here are the x440/3 installed.IMG_20150803_205533.jpgIMG_20150803_205543.jpgIMG_20150803_205606.jpg

I went to the lake today! The boat ran great and was fast. But I hit some floating thing and my rudder took the hit... At least thas what i thought. The bolts holding the rudder to the bracket were tootight from factory and made the hull crack.IMG_20150812_174223.jpgIMG_20150812_174246.jpgIMG_20150812_174314.jpgIMG_20150812_174333.jpgIMG_20150812_174409.jpgI think CA glue will do the trick for this kind of damage. Any other ideas?

Well... CA glue did not work good. So i had to re-glue the mounting plate in place, and re-shape the rudder mount with 5 minutes gel epoxy. Next, sanding and painting the transom!IMG_20150815_122026.jpgIMG_20150815_122030.jpgIMG_20150815_122037.jpgIMG_20150815_122117.jpg

I went to run the boat today. i was running 3s on the stock motors, and two things happened. First, the left motor, looking at transom, de-soldered a connector. The motor temp was 91°F. Not hot enough to do that. What could have caused this?

After re-soldering the motor connector, i put the boat in the water again, and after maybe 2 minutes, the steering servo went bad. Do you think the two problem could be related? Or is it only a coincidence? The servo was a traxxas 2075 model.

                    Please help!

                    Thanks, André.
