Where to Find Teardrop/Air Foil Carbon Booms?

OK guys, I've seen it several times before in many pictures on both sides of the pond. Where is everyone buying the carbon booms in the teardrop/airfoil shape? Please note that I'm not looking for the larger wings, but rather the smaller size more appropriate for booms.

I'm sure someone knows, so fess up! It may be that it was originally designed for the UAV market or maybe heli rotor blades. I just haven't found them for purchase.

I greatly appreciate the input and assistance.

I am pretty sure my LHS has some, I'll have a look next time I'm by but hopefully someone pipes up. I am thinking the rack at LHS is Great Planes but could be wrong.

I went to their website and it appears they have carbon strips, but not in an airfoil shape. I could attempt to shape, but it appears that the ones they offer are too small to have the strength required. If you do go by your LHS, I greatly appreciate you looking to see what they have!

Bill Oxidean made up his own.

Used the K&S Aluminum "airfoil" tubing (I use the term airfoil VERY loosely here... They are far from it, and actually have been shown to cause MORE drag than a round tube).

I think if you wax or somehow lubricate the aluminum, then put heat-shrink over it and wax/mold-release that, you can laminate carbon around the outside. Once it cures, you simply slide the tube out of the inside and pull out the heat-shrink...

I have tried the K&S and experienced the same result: more drag.

I haven't tried the kite store here. I'm only 30 mins from Kitty Hawk. I'll see what they have and perhaps I can reinforce.

            Thanks guys.

Lol! I can see me right now on 2s and maybe 8p. Although 3.25" isn't bad for single booms. It makes you think.
