    Predator outrigger and solinger hardware

I'm done with my predator rigger hull and starting to install the solinger hardware and find that the rudder offset brings the rudder outside the edge of the hull by about 1/2" and not sure if that's acceptable or not as I'm pretty new at this boat thing and hardware in particular.I searched the forums here and elsewhere and saw a few people saying that this was what they were going to use http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=sol-hydro.

Hopefully it'll be OK as I'd hate to have to build another boat just to use the hardware

    Thanks in advance

When up on step, a rigger hull is out of the water, so the width of the tub versus the rudder location is somewhat of a moot point. The water doesn't know where the sides of the tub are, just where the rudder and propeller are located. I do not see an issue with the arrangement you mention. The Solinger hardware is very high quality equipment, and I think you can not go wrong with it.

That said, I am far from an expert on these things, but in my opinion, you should be OK.

All you experts, feel free to chime in and fire up your flamethrowers.

It will work just fine out there. It is situated the same way on all my riggers. This is why I made the rudder bracket sweep back to the rudder the way it does.

with all of the above. The good Doctor hit the nail on the hammer when he said the tub is clear of the water. I have used Solinger on my XS2 and had no problems.
