I've been toying with the idea of building my own boat, from the keel up. I'm planning to base it on the Fountain 47 Lightning. My idea is to build the bottom first, then install all the running components before fitting and sealing the deck. And of course making the hatch design weather tight hinged to the deck. I dont know, just playing with some ideas at this point as being retired, I'll need something to spend my time with. I'm thinking I'll build it 47", include the notched transom, the stepped hull, the whole thing. Also looking for a couple of out drive units as I want this project as scale as i can possibly make it. This one will take a bit, but once I get my molding right, I hope I would be able to make a few with it, should be fun with a chance of minor cussing here and there. Lol
I might be nuts, but heck with it...
