    Villain V brushless conversion

I was thinking of replacing the 550 Ttans with a pair of 775 brushed motors, but can't find out where to get them. The obvious alternative to me is brushless motors. I'm looking at a pair of Aquacraft L36/56. They are about the same size. But I have two questions: are brushless motors reversible for contra-rotating props; and how do I figure out which esc (or pair of escs?) I should use.

If anubody knows where to get the 775s (or equivelent) please let me know. It would be cheaper and would give me a couple of alternatives to consider.

I can say right now that your not going to fit 775(brushed)in the stock mounts on the villain. But I do know that SV motor will mount just fine.but you have one problem you have to get a 5mm gear for the shafts to fit to the stock gears and I dont know if they make the correct pitch which I think is 32,If you can find that out it just might work.As for speed control you can use the sv controlers through a Y-harness to the receiver. And yes you can make brushless run for counter-rotation by switching one of the three wires around.

Check this link out It will help you alot

It almost just might be easier to swich to single power system. Not with the time of how long it will take but the avalibility of the products you need.

Also in a recent issue of rcboat modeler they took two traxxas brushless systems and modified it to work in the villain. If you go brushless with the villain you sure would be putting a beating on the stock drivetrain.not saying it cant be done GOOD LUCK

You could go with a pair of better quality motors with better windings:

And at under $20.00 EACH THERE ARE A GREAT DEAL !!!

Sounds like a good alternative. Does it keep the same esc? Also, nice installation pics.
          Thanks

Same ESC. Do a search on the tower hobbies site under fireball. Venom makes them in all kinds of flavors (windings) Make sure you get a prop kit as well or you might as well keep the stock motors. A kick ass set of batteries will do a world of good as well.

please make a twin direct drive SV27 setup. The gears are the problem. I'd just love to see a proper twin setup and yeah your not fitting two of these in there.
