    central rc 53" skatercat build

Im starting a build on a Central Rc skatercat 53" x 17" cat and have some motor questions
I'm a newbie so please be easy on me Lol
    I already have a Hobbywing 180 esc
Motor choices on hand are Leopard 4082 1600kv and a Leopard 4092 1390 kv
Would I be able to run these motors as a twin setup in this big of a boat on 6s and reach speeds of middle 50s with no heat issues
My other thought is a 5092 1090kv on 8s single setup
Main use is just as a hobbyist on weekends
    Thanks in advance

Confused...do you want to run the 1600 and the 1390 together, or do you have two of each to use? If you are going to run twins, you need the same Kv on each motor, as well as two ESC's.

No I would have to buy a second of either motor and an esc
I wasnt sure if any of these would get me to almost 60 on that size hull
Most that Ive been able to find that people have built use really low kv

Nice build!! Bet that paint job turned out sweet
So you think the bigger single set up would be better
Would you suggest 8s and 180 esc
I figured most would say lower kv
The reason for my thought on the 1600kv twin was I seen a Genisis on a single 6s setup run in the 70s on youtube
I know its a much smaller hull but looking at twice the power with twins

Still working on the paint the cold weather gets in the way. Yes the bigger the motors to match the hull the better. I take the Kv X the volts to be run that is 3.4V X number of cells. I look for around 24,000 to 32,000RPM free spin. and then I start small on the prop size and work up till I find the right prop. Small motors is like putting a Old 40 Hp vw motor in a old giant Cady.

              Thanks Randy
I'll have to keep an eye on your build for the finished paint

i think youre going to be better off with bigger motors, higher cell count and at least 240a esc's. its not like an hpr or mhz, its a very wide hull, tall and heavier in comparison. i have the 51 victory and am using 56mm motors in my build.
