What do you think of using JB Weld to make threads for the kurl screws to keep the hatch in place? I was actually thinking to try first before using those that since its steel reinforced and all...

There's lots of things jb weld would be good for but I don't think threads is one of them. Mine sit at a little angle only because they are just barely too wide to sit all the way down on the bottom of the sponson. But, even if they could sit all the way down, the sponson isnt completely flat so they would still be at a slight angle. Heres a pic, I put a piece of paper under it so its easier to see, I havent epoxied them in yet.
