Flat Bottom model hulls vs prototype designs???

After 20 years I'm trying to get back into the RC Boat hobby again. The last boat I built was a Duma .60 size modified tunnel pickle fork with a K&B 11CC outboard. It ran great but I sold it because the folks around our running pond didn't like the noise. So now I'm looking into an electric powered flat bottom mono hull. I have always loved the full scale Sanger and Biesmyer K boats.
The question is, even if the hull looks fast and cool is there any reason not to try and build a model scaled after one of these boats???? I know that the RC model boats and car tech. has really moved ahead, to where the electric motors are being able to turn out the power and torque of the nitro engines or at least getting close.
Can some one set me straight on the hull design question I have ??? Thanks, Tony

None at aside from your expectations Tony. If you expect it to handle like a Delta Force or AC it will or won't let you down. For sport running in all honesty, you will probably have a hoot with it. And THAT is all that matters.

if you like the tunnel design, and going electric, take a look at ML Boat works, real nice hull an (speed) Fast,
an also as you know when a nitro quits by sub, or flipping she's dead in water.
electric I have sub it, flipped it , was long was the boatis right side up she's good to go.
less clean up at the end of the day of playing at te pond.
my tunnel dose 50+ on 4 cell. JAE 21 rigger 70 on 5 cell,
also buy a good Radio , Futaba, JR, Airtronic, 2.4 radios make sure it has Failsafe , so the boat don't runaway,LOL
the guys here are great, an are willing to help out to get u on the water . hope this helps you .
