Well for 2015 racing season I will be joining the Fighter Cat / Cheetah boys in 6S.
I decided on this build about 6 months ago and decided to try my hand at building a FE boat. It was no question in my mind that it will be a twin but that's all I knew. I wanted this Cat to handle trhe rough windy oval course of our Lakeside club the spec's of the build changed no less then 3 times . So I have left over rudders, Flex shafts, Stingers and struts

The hull was reinforced with fiberglass epoxy up the front and a alloy rear transom plate was fabricated up along with the strut plates.
I wanted to paint this hull so a two tone green paint scheme was the plan with the hatch being a different tone to the hull. I used acrylic spray paint with a good primer and countless clear coats. The windshield I made out of tracing paper first then transferred it on to some black vinyl with a red trim. Custom Mad Racer & Cheetah decals were made up by my partner using a Roland Stika plotter..
I'm aware that the placement of the batteries is not what most do but this is one area I looked long and hard in adjust ability of weight for rough conditions at speed. Twin Seaking 180 ESC ver 3 got the nod to sit in each sponsor to keep the COG low and since they are waterproof it was not a concern. Two Turnigy's Aquastar 3660 1460KV motors were mounted on TFL adj motor mounts and placed a little forward then most twin set up's . Lots of mock ups were done to keep the COG at 30%..
2 beautifully machined adjustable length struts were purchased after looking at flraptor07 set up ( Thanks Chris for your help). They had to be modded a little but all went well with just enough room. A set of machined CNC 4814 props were bolted up for initial testing ( Thanks to Paul on his recommendation on these props)
To keep with the paint theme a red alloy servo tray, and accessories were added in the build.
Well so how does it go. It's had 3 runs at 3 different lakes and it screams. Hull sits really nice and corners quite hard. So far no adjustments have been made as I'm so happy BUT I hope it will go well at Lakeside. Servo seems a little notchy and will look into that before it's next run.
Painting the hull ..

Mock up stage of components

My partner doing the Decals up.

More pic;s to come.
A big thank you to Chris, Paul, Ray and Trevor.
