    Big boat conversion

I have a fiberglass 60.5 inch tunnel with a lawless cutthroat g drive outboard. Up until last fall I was really into gas power. Wanted to see what electric was all about so I bought a cheap small tunnel with a OS leg and a motor and esc. I really enjoy it and running the boat is so much easier and quieter. I still like my gas boats, but now I'm thinking big electric would be a thing I like to dabble in. Like I said the boat is pretty big. I need some basic info just to start researching this possible project. Has Anyone out there did a conversion? I just need your set up description. Electric conversion mount for the leg. Prop size size and kv and make of the motor and esc. And the size battery. Also what controllable speed could you get out of the right set up? Any info would be great.

1st question is........what is your budget? This conversion is not going to be cheap.

Answer that question and then we can tell you how (of if) it can be done.

Not sure what a mid line price would be. Not the best but cheapest. I may have the batteries that I could use in series if I know how many cells. I'm figuring 500 to 700. I also have a 36inch sprint cat (aromarine) hull doing nothing I was thinking to convert. Would that be cheaper? Also totally off subject. But in your aviatar, is that a tree climbing coon hound?

He was..with some others mixed in...but sadly not with us anymore...or his little Jack Russell buddy

Something that big would need a 10s2P setup, or possible 12s2P.

        Motor:

        ESC:

        Batteries:
Lots of options...but I've had excellent luck over the years with Turnigy's from Hobby King 30C 5000mah 5or 6S.

That will kill most of your budget...maybe a bit more.

Your Sprint Cat could easily be set up for your budget.

What do you think about the sprint cat conversion. Easier to convert? Cheaper? Would I use the same set up as the f1. The hull is in great condition. Used it a couple times before I found f1 was my thing. I was going to sell it. But maybe that would be a better 1st biger boat conversion. Yea. I knew he had coon hound qualities. I Lways had pointers and weimwriers. When my last pointer died I wanted to go a different direction. So I got a red bone coon hound. That was last April he will be a year in January. All I can say is hounds are way more difficult to train obedience and field then a pointer. He is a dope and his attention span is nill. His nose takes over his brain. At 70lbs He is a bull in a china shop. Here is a pic. Of Trapimage.jpg
