Curious about these. They're about the size of a laptop aren't they?

If your familiar with a 101 this is a 400a next to fightercat 101

No not really. A friend is the distributor of TP motors in europe. He can also deliver these 400A 16s flier esc's. I was a bit sceptic in the beginning but he convinced me it were good esc's since he had used them himself. I got one first for my 45' mono, that one is never hot. They are quiet big and heavy but not the size of a laptop. They are a little bit longer than my 240A swordfish esc in length but they are higher than the SF. Definitely not bigger than the old 300A SF which many people run in big boats. They cost me 225 euro / esc , so around 240 $ + 20 euro for a 3400uF 80V cap bank. The cap bank is large and not really necessary for the watersnake since the 4035's will not pull 400A peaks I think. I ordered them anyway, maybe for the futher in some other builds. I will make some pictures as well of the esc next to my 240A swordfish esc. Pictures will be for next weekend though

Motors will be changed to 2x TP4070 740kv on 12 and 14s. Current top speed was around 60mph with x447's but the motors got too hot
on 12s (80°C-90°C). Boat ran very well so I hope it will run as good with the TP4070's. Those have the long MBP waterjackets so normally
they will stay a bit colder than the 4035's outrunners.

If you look at this picture, the layout should be clear: IMG_0114.jpg

I put the esc's on the side and the lipo's in front of the motors.
I ran a 1.15m mono with a TP5850 600kv on 12s2p so more are less the same setup as in your watersnake.
                    Nice setup with long runtimes.
Currently the motor is changed to a lehner 3060/14 on 14s2p.
Here is a video on 14s2p with the old TP5850: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9I0uZpfNEw
