I am so sorry to hear that Randy. But happy for you. You have done a lot and should be proud of yourself. Hope you will stay inboard here.

I Love racing and building RC boats But the Chinese have and some other people have made it impossible for me to continue trying to make a living at this any more. Lucky my wife will still support me in racing. I would really had been up set if I had to stop. I am 66 now and I am real happy to do this. I just have to sell most all of it. Then I can afford to do the things I want to do. I will be hear more after it is all gone. I always wonder how well I am liked for all my hard work. In the last 5 years I have been put threw a wringer. I know that Wilmer will be real unhappy that I will not make any more boats for him. Thank you Shawn It means a lot to me for you to hear/read you say that, you have bought a lot of stuff from me and have been a good friend.

We all have dreams that we owe to ourselves to fulfill. Any man that tries to fulfill his life dream in one way or another has all my respect and you should be proud of yourself! I wish you the best of luck.
Wow Randy, I'm sad and happy at the same time! Sad that we will no longer be able to get these awsome boats from you. But happy for you to be able to do what you want to do and those two cars really need to be finished. If you need anything for either car that you can't find give me a shout, I may have it or know where you can find it. It's been a pleasure to have done business with you and hope we can stay in touch, I wish you all the best.
Randy, I was just getting to know you and we had talked about a rigger for me to do "SAW" with. I do wish you the best and pls do definately keep in touch as I have enjoyed our conversations... DJ

Ok guys hear is what I am doing, I have to sell all the stuff I do not want, but first I have to decide what I am keeping. My wife says it will take me a year, I hope for 1/2 a year. I will let everyone know as it happens. I will still be making hulls and hardware just no more RTR that is done. Paint work is over, no paint. You all can buy any hull or hardware that I make you all have 6 months to get what you want.
This is what I know now, I am going to keep these molds SS30, Zephyer 27,Scat Cat 33 all new SAW boat molds and the new P Sport Hydro.

Randy and I have argued about all kinds of stupid things over the years. From "how to" all the way to the company he keeps but we had a phone conversation about 8 or 9 years ago that I still remember. It was when there was a push to shore up the sport hydro rules. The intent was to make sure sport didn't become just glorified riggers. Blahd'blah. It was all smoke and mirrors and ancient history now but something Randy said to me I never forgot.
He said basically that if the rules ever became so restrictive that he couldn't use his imagination and creativity he would be out. I'm summarizing. There was more to what he said but It was so clear that the boats weren't just boats to him. They were art. They were personal. They're an expression of his passion for the hobby.
When you're building your own boats remember that they can be more than just glass or wood and some mechanics slapped together. That's what I learned from Randy. For that I thank you sir.
