Thanks avanti, I was kind of going for a skater look, I don't think I am going to add any more to the hatch, just leave as is as far as scoops and such.

Just ordered some teflon and flex cable, hopefully I can get these stuffing tubes bent, then everything else is pretty easy.

I dred all the body work and sanding I am going to have to do on mine to finish it.
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

Wow, great thread! I see you are having your struts off the back transom - if you were doing a single motor, would you still have the rudder in center, or off set? which side?

You know, I'm not really sure where you would put a rudder when running single motor, my first thought would be center just because I like things symetrical, but usualy offset to the left side is what I have seen most people do, it think when running center rudder on a single motor the rudder is less effective as it is trying to turn due to the disturbed water from prop.

I have started messing with the stuffing tubes, but will not glue them in till the weekend, but they will have more of a bend then ideal to get them to exit where needed due to lack of planning of placement on my part, but suprisingly the flex shaft turns with little effort, which makes me happy as I was worried about it. I am however going to have to use struts mounted off the transom rather then using stingers due to available mounting areas.

I have started to putting the flex tubes in, the hardware is just temp. mounted to align the tubes. I am slowly making progress.

                    Thanks rcboatfan.

I really need some motivation to finish this boat, and to drive my other boats!!! I keep eyeing a DF22 hydro, how nice would it be to not have to sand, just mount your stuff and go to the lake.

                        Small update
Tack glued the stuffing tubes in place, I need to order some more stuff, motor coupler, strut etc, along with batteries and servo. I really think I am going to test it out before I paint it. I know that the flex cables look like a large angle, but they actually spin very smooth, this was really the only way for me to install them due to my lack of planning, but they are very smooth spining by hand.

I just joined the military, so this boat isn't going to get any attention for like at least 6 months, starting in april, so I am trying to get it somewhat mostly done as far as being able to run minus paint, so we will see.

Damn brother I Thank you for joining up to protect our rights!
The boat is looking good I hope you get it done prior to boot camp
then maybe your dad can have it painted by your first trip home
I recommend a military theme paint scheme to match the branch you're joining
Thanks again for your willingness to serve our country.

Just ordered a hitec HS-81 servo. Should be plenty strong to steer this beast. Once I get that hopefully I can lay some fiberglass to the floor to stiffen it up a bit. Also ordered the 2 struts, the one in the pics is for a different boat lol.

You probably can't really tell that I did anything to it, but I forgot to put blind nuts in the transome for the struts, so I had to cut the transome up and install them, then seal it back up, it was a lot of work. Hopefully soon I can do a semi final sanding, then seal the wood. I am still waiting for my struts, and servo. I think I am going to need a different rudder then what my dad made me, I need to get the rudder to be equal distance or behind the props, and the way I have to do the struts, its not going to work, so now I have more figureing out to do.
